What the article does not talk about is comprehension. Reading fast without the desired level of comprehension is oxymoronic. Yes, to speed read you need to move your eyes more quickly and fluidly. The human eyes can easily see tens of thousands of words per minute. But that is only one part of the reading process. The second component is comprehension. Eye-Q doesn't do much for teaching the cognitive, or comprehension process.

It is possible to comprehend well in the thousands of words per minute range. However it requires the reader to shift perceptions of how we comprehend and think and respond to printed text.
